He really is. Where was it that he was spotted doing his trackwalk on an old Bonneville? I loved that shot. He DD’s an old VW Eurovan! One of the best Vettel moments for me was after he won his fourth championship. A - he was wandering around starry eyed blabbering about not him, but about F1 history while finishing off his podium champagne and B - Helped the team break down afterwards because it was a quik turnaround flyaway race and he wanted to make sure they could get to the party and it wasn’t a PR stunt. The photos were all from random people in the pitlane who saw it happening. I really don’t get why people dislike him so much. Yeah, it got boring at times when he was dominating, but you can’t fault the guy for that.

Vettel is far and away my favorite driver. I didn’t really follow F1 closely before Seb’s final RBR year and he was very grumpy all the time. I guess getting away from old man Dietrich (and Ricciardo) helped him loosen up.
It does make me wonder, however, how much of this is him just enjoying racing alongside his best bud Kimi. If Kimi leaves and somebody actually starts challenging Seb, will the happy-good-fun-time Seb go away?

The guy is funny as fuck too. It’s difficult to choose who is the funniest out of him, Alonso or Button.

Seb easily. Remember him trolling the Monaco podium last year? Nico and Lewis were at their most awkward, Brundle did the interview, and there’s Seb popping in to lighten the mood and remind everyone “I’m happy! I’m happy to be here!”

He can be a little winy in-car, but out of the car or outside of racing he’s always hilarious and a genuinely nice guy.

He was pretty happy-go-lucky before then too. That was just a bad year, and I think it had more to do with how poorly Renault were underperforming and that Schumi had his accident than anything. I’m also still a tiny bit convinced that he was exploiting a performance clause to go to Ferrari. Ricciardo still has nice things to say about him, and I think the talk about Webber’s issues with him are telling -
“With his relationship with Mark before I got there, I was...cautious, with my approach with him as a team-mate,” said Ricciardo. “But he was solid and we actually got on well and obviously the season went better for me than it did for him. He never really made excuses and if I beat him he shook my hand like a man and said “good race”, so he was a good team-mate.”

I think when he was winning all the time, the arrogance (or perceived arrogance anyway) trumped his sense of humor but now at Ferrari he seems WAAY more likeable and funny.
